Local aerodrome regulations
The Aerodrome Controller provides information about the initial climb, which is 6000 ft. Information is not provided when further ATC (APP Poznań/ACC Warszawa) is offline.
Poznań TWR controller does not require clearance from APP Poznań for takeoff permission (the “departure release” is not required).
Unless otherwise instructed by the TWR, aircrews of all departing aircraft shall as soon as possible after departure contact POZNAŃ APP on frequency 128.925 MHz.
Datalink clearance
In addition to clearances issued via radio, ATS has an option to issue ATC clearance via Dalatink Departure Clearance (DCL). Departure Clearance Request (RCD) should be initiated:
- no earlier than 30 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned),
- no later than 5 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned).
After initiating the datalink process, cews shall continously monitor frequency given in ATIS in the data exchange process in case of any changes.
ATC clearance can be issued by ATC via radio even after initiating the Departure Clearance Request (RCD) via datalink.
Minimum runway occupancy time
ATC services assume each aircraft having received clearance to line up the runway to be ready for immediate take-off.
Aircrews unable to comply with these requirements shall inform ATC services as soon as possible.
Ground movement procedures
Delivery controller may, after coordination with Ground controller, issue a startup clearancefor aircraft on stands at Apron 1 and Apron 3 North.
Runway 10/28 is equipped with rapid-exit taxiways, for runway 10: TWY R; for runway 28: TWY S. The crew should be given an instruction to, if possible, vacate runway via the rapid-exit taxiway.
Stands 6-14 are used for cargo aircraft. Stands 15-20 are used for civil aircraft and are located near the terminal. Stands 40-42 are remote stands. Stands on APRON 1 and APRON 3 NORTH are used for General Aviation, mainly for flight schools.
Due to their wingspan and length, aircraft such as the B747 and B777 do not fit in standard parking stands. Therefore, a special taxiing procedure has been developed for this type of aircraft, which proceeds as follows: The aircraft under the terminal should be guided via TWY B, then turned right onto TWY G. The next step is to pass through stand 20 and make a 90° turn so that the aircraft is parallel to TWY G. The aircraft stops at stand 17. In this case, stands 17-20 remain out of service.

Aircraft DE-ICING
De-icing of Code A, B, and C aircraft is carried out on parking stands 40 and 40A. De-icing of Code A, B, C and D aircraft is carried out on the de-icing pad (stands 1A and 1B). De-icing of Code D aircraft and Code E aircraft is allowed on stands 41-42. Taxiing to stand 1B is possible via TWYs D1 and H1 or TWYs A and H1.
It is advised that aircraft engines be switched off during de-icing.
Aircraft push-back for de-icing on stands No 40 and 40A is carried out with the handling agent’s assistance. Other aircraft are pushed back for de-icing on stands No 40 and 40A with marshaller assistance.
VFR traffic
Flights shall take place according to the published VFR routes. Shortcuts, other than published, should not be used for flight planning.
Constant (cruising) altitude and pattern altitude for VFR flights in CTR EPPO is 1500 ft. It is caused by dense buildings and high obstacles surrounding the airport. Flights shall not take place below that altitude. Flight above that altitude require coordination with APP or ACC controller (if online).
Descent below 1500 ft is permitted only in close vicinity of the airport, during published holding procedures over VFR reporting points, approaches and runway operations.
During high traffic load, aircraft in VFR flight may be instructed to hold as published in the holding areas: — NORTH holding area is located between waypoints GOLF and HOTEL. — SOUTH holding area is located between waypoints INDIA and FOXTROT.
At EPPO radar service is provided for airborne traffic. Traffic is controlled according to PANS-ATM 4444 Chapter 8.
Low Visibility Procedures (LVP)
LVP operations will be commenced when any of the RVR falls below 550 m and/or the cloud ceiling falls below 200 ft. Pilots are informed about LVP being in operation via ATIS or by radio, with use of following phraseology: “Low visibility procedures in operation”.
LVP will be terminated when all of the RVR increase over 600 m and the cloud ceiling reaches 200 ft or more and a continuing improvement is anticipated.

During LVP number of aircraft remaining simultaneously in the maneuvering area within RWY and TWY area between CAT II stop bars at TWY B, H1, G and CAT I/CAT II stop bar at TWY N1 is limited to one.
Minimum RVR for departure is 125 m.
