Local aerodrome regulations
The Ground controller determines the departure procedure for the selected aircraft with adjacent controller providing service in TMA controller each time.
The Ground/Tower Controller provides information about the initial climb, which is 6000 ft. Information is provided only when APP Krakow is online. When APP is offline, initial climb shall be coordinated with TWR for each departing traffic.
Datalink clearance
In addition to clearances issued via radio, ATS has an option to issue ATC clearance via Dalatink Departure Clearance (DCL). Departure Clearance Request (RCD) should be initiated:
- no earlier than 30 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned),
- no later than 5 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned).
After initiating the datalink process, cews shall continously monitor frequency given in ATIS in the data exchange process in case of any changes.
ATC clearance can be issued by ATC via radio even after initiating the Departure Clearance Request (RCD) via datalink.
Minimum runway occupancy time
ATC will consider every aircraft at the holding point as able to commence line up and take-off roll after clearance issued with no delay.
If the taxi distance between the parking stand and holding position is short, it is suggested to finish the passenger cabin safety procedures demo before vacating the parking stand.
Flight crews should be prepared and ready to accept intersection take-off:

Crews unable to accept the reduced take-off intersection, shall inform ATC not later then before startup.
Unless otherwise specified by ATC, arriving crews should vacate the RWY as soon as possible, via the nearest TWY.
Ground movement procedures
Taxiing via TWY G and Z between 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise available only with the FOLLOW ME assistance.
Aircraft DE-ICING
De-icing is performed on APR 3 (STD 7).
Crews should inform ATC about requrement for de-icing, not later then before startup.
VFR traffic
Flights shall take place according to the published VFR routes. Shortcuts, other than published, should not be used for flight planning.
Constant (cruising) altitude and pattern altitude for VFR flights in CTR EPRZ is 1500 ft. It is caused by dense buildings and high obstacles surrounding the airport. Flights shall not take place below that altitude.
Descending below 1500 ft is permitted only in close vicinity of the airport, during published holding procedures over VFR reporting points, approaches and runway operations.
During high traffic load, aircraft in VFR flight may be instructed to hold on one of the published holdings:
- on the north side of the aerodrome KILO, MIKE, NOVEMBER
- on the south side of the aerodrome BRAVO, TANGO, WHISKEY, YANKEE, QUEBEC, HOTEL, GOLF
At EPRZ radar service is provided for airborne traffic. Traffic is controlled according to PANS-ATM 4444 Chapter 8. After leaving CTR Rzeszów pilot should be informed of radar service termination (does not apply when APP Kraków is online).
Low Visibility Procedures (LVP)
LVP operations will be commenced when any of the RVR falls below 550 m and/or the cloud ceiling falls below 200 ft.
Pilots are informed about LVP being in operation via ATIS or by radio, with use of following phraseology: “Low visibility procedures in operation. CAT II in operation”.
If weather conditions does not allow CAT II approaches the following phraseology should be used instead: “Low visibility procedures in operation. CAT II not available”.
LVP will be terminated when all of the RVR increase over 600 m and the cloud ceiling reaches 200 ft or more and a continuing improvement is anticipated.

During LVP for departure and landing only runway 27 should be used. Runway 09 can be used for departure on pilot request. After landing runway should be vacated via taxiway B and reported to ATC.
Minimum RVR for departure is 350 m.
