Local aerodrome regulations

Delivery controller may, after coordination with Tower controller, issue a startup clearance for aircraft on stands at Apron 1 and Apron 4.

The Ground/Tower Controller provides information about the initial climb, which is 6000 ft. Information is not provided when further ATC (APP Poznań/ACC Warszawa) is offline.

Wrocław TWR controller does not require clearance from APP Poznań for takeoff permission (the “departure release” is not required).

In addition to clearances issued via radio, ATS has an option to issue ATC clearance via Dalatink Departure Clearance (DCL). Departure Clearance Request (RCD) should be initiated:

  • no earlier than 30 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned),
  • no later than 5 minutes prior to EOBT or CTOT (if CTOT is assigned).

After initiating the datalink process, cews shall continously monitor frequency given in ATIS in the data exchange process in case of any changes.

ATC clearance can be issued by ATC via radio even after initiating the Departure Clearance Request (RCD) via datalink.

Ground movement procedures

Stands 8-18 are dedicated to civilian, commercial aircraft. APRON 2, stands 1-6, are dedicated to smaller commercial aircraft and Business Jets. APRON 1 is dedicated to cargo aircraft and General Aviation (G/A). APRON 4 is dedicated to military aviation aircraft. Aircraft de-icing at Wrocław Airport takes place at stands 51 and 52 near taxiway A1.

Aircraft DE-ICING

Aircraft de-icing takes place on de-icing pads 3 and 5. Aircraft may enter pad 3 via TWY B4, J2, K. De-icing pad 3 has aircraft stands no. 31 and 32 for aircraft up to ICAO C code. Pad 3 also has stand no. 33 for aircraft up to ICAO F code.

Aircraft may enter pad 5 via TWY B only.

VFR traffic

Flights shall take place according to the published VFR routes. Shortcuts, other than published, should not be used for flight planning.

Constant (cruising) altitude and pattern altitude for VFR flights in CTR EPWR is 1500 ft. It is caused by dense buildings and high obstacles surrounding the airport. Flights shall not take place below that altitude. Flight above that altitude require coordination with APP or ACC controller (if online).

Descent below 1500 ft is permitted only in close vicinity of the airport, during published holding procedures over VFR reporting points, approaches and runway operations.

During high traffic load, aircraft in VFR flight may be instructed to hold as published over the following points: — point NOVEMBER – arrival from ROMEO. Holding is published - on the north side of NOVEMBER. — point SIERRA – arrival from GOLF or KILO.

At EPWR radar service is provided for airborne traffic. Traffic is controlled according to PANS-ATM 4444 Chapter 8.

Low Visibility Procedures (LVP)

LVP operations will be commenced when any of the RVR falls below 550 m and/or the cloud ceiling falls below 200 ft. Pilots are informed about LVP being in operation via ATIS or by radio, with use of following phraseology: “Low visibility procedures in operation.” LVP will be terminated when all RVRs increase to 550 m or above and ceiling rises above 200 ft and a continuing improvement is anticipated.

During LVP arriving traffic will be required to use RWY 29 and TWYs C and D4 only.

Minimum RVR for departure is 125 m.
