TMA Lublin

Airspace characteristics

The TMA Lublin airspace is controlled airspace of Class D up to FL95, and from FL95 to FL135 it is classified as Class C. TWR Lublin provides procedural approach control for Lublin Airport.

TMALB

Standard Operating Procedures

The TWR Lublin controller is responsible for ensuring separation between aircraft following the rules outlined in this section.

For non-RNAV arrivals, meaning when the aircraft cannot perform navigation with RNP 1 accuracy, the crew should receive a clearance for STARs with the identifier “P”. These types of arrivals require a holding pattern over the SWI VOR, with a descent to 4000 ft, and then the appropriate procedure will begin. Each time the aircraft is holding over SWI VOR, the crew should be informed of the Initial Approach Fix (IAF) to start the Instrument Approach Procedure (IAP).

RNAV arrivals to EPLB have only one possible configuration (one STAR identifier) for each runway. An exception is the VENES1L procedure, which is a shortcut arrival from the west to runway 07. This shortcut can be issued if there is no activity at LUBLIN/Radawiec (EPLR) airport. Due to the lack of activity zones simulation at EPLR, this limitation does not apply within the VATSIM network.

In cases where adequate time separation is not achieved, holding procedures on the STAR routes (LB386, LB389, LB472, LB479) are recommended.

Airspace delegation to ACC Warszawa

The TMA Lublin airspace, upon the request of the TWR Lublin controller and after approval from the ACC Warszawa controller, can be temporarily delegated or specific air traffic control tasks for individual aircraft can be delegated to ACC Warszawa.

caution

The delegation takes place only when TWR Lublin is online and grants permission/requests the ACC controller for this delegation.

In the delegated airspace, the ACC Warszawa controller can apply radar control of air traffic.

The delegation cannot be lower than 5500 ft due to radar coverage limitations used by ACC Warszawa.

The ACC Warszawa controller may use radar imagery to issue shortcuts to STAR points when traffic conditions allow, ensuring that the aircraft, during the DCT flight, remains above 5500 ft at all times. This allows effective shortening of arrivals to points such as LB422, LB388, LB473, LB477.

Delegation of airspace must be agreed upon each time with the relevant ACC controller. The ACC controller can revoke the delegation at any time, ensuring that aircraft within TMA Lublin will remain procedurally separated.
